what a question.
My daughter who is turning 9 asked me why are people here. How the heck am I going to answer that one. If you think about it that's going to be simple question compared to some of the stuff I'm going to have to talk to her about one of these days. Any help out there. I told here we are here for each other. She just says ohhhhh. Don't think shes satisfied with my answer.

Your answer is good but we are also here so we will always be here. Don't think you can use words like procreate to her, not yet a while anyway!
How about:
"People are here to annoy and/or entertain other people."
That or:
"Where else would people be ?"
